Is Grimm season 6, episode 9 going to have talking trees? Maybe it’s a tad early to be saying that for sure, but there are some elements in the information that we do have from the synopsis for “Tree People” that suggest we’re going in that direction.
Synopsis – “Nick (David Giuntoli), Hank (Russell Hornsby) and Wu (Reggie Lee) are called to the scene of the crime where a man claims his friend was consumed by a tree-like figure. Meanwhile, after the gang learns of Eve’s (Bitsie Tulloch) disturbing mirror encounter.”
Obviously, let’s start with talking about the case. We’ve witnessed several freaky cases on the show over the years, but this needs to be included near the top of the list. Maybe he was a part of some Lord of the Rings tribute group, and it all went terribly awry leading to this moment. Or, maybe there are actually trees out there with the capacity to attack people. If the effects are fun, it’s hard to be upset at the prospects of seeing something like that happen.
As for the recovery of Eve in the wake of what transpired, this could be the part of the episode that carries over and remains important for a while. The thing about where we are right now on Grimm is that the finale isn’t that far away. We’re inching ever closer, and the mythology needs to build towards something. After this incredible, crazy journey, the last thing that anyone likely wants or expects is to see everything go out with some sort of a whimper. Fingers crossed that we don’t actually see that happening.
