Tonight, The Flash will have an opportunity to wrap up some of their stories when it comes to Gorilla Grodd, but in news that really should not be a surprise to anyone out there, the show’s not slowing things down at all.
Specifically next week’s new episode “The Wrath of Savitar” should mark a chance to see the glorified Transformer return, albeit in a way that is different than any that we’ve seen on the show to date. This time around, Savitar may be threatened more by Wally West. Why else do you think we’re going to see him start to be haunted by the God of Speed showing up in his head? Maybe Savitar can find a way to get some sort of influence over him just like he did Julian, even if the difference here is that there is no Philosopher’s Stone involved.
Take a look below for a little more information.
Synopsis – “While training with Barry (Grant Gustin), Wally (Keiynan Lonsdale) starts to have visions of Savitar, which he hides from the team. A dangerous secret threatens Barry and Iris’ (Candice Patton) happiness.”
Let’s go ahead and get out of the way now the biggest issue that there is with this episode on paper: All the secrets. Why do this? At this point, it does not make a whole lot of sense for anyone on this team to hide information from anyone else, especially since it NEVER seems to work out very well. The vast majority of time, all it does is cause people even more frustration, and more issues that they need to overcome down the road. The only way this would make some sense for us is if this was Iris keeping the secret, just because that’s a little more interesting an angle than Barry doing something that he’s done many times over for the sake of “protecting her.”
Promo – This mostly just gives you a sense of Savitar’s return … and also what it could mean for Wally and the rest of the team.
