Supergirl: Episode 2.16 Spoilers – On Teri Hatcher, Mon-El, and Darren Criss

Following tonight’s new episode, the Supergirl season 2, episode 16 return date is going to be a little bit down the road. The Melissa Benoist series is not returning to The CW until we get around to Monday, March 20; when it does come back, it will be worth it.

“Star-Crossed” is the title for the next new episode, and this is going to mark the debut of Darren Criss as the Music Meister, a villain who specializes in song. He’ll be the man responsible for the upcoming musical featuring this show and The Flash, though it’s not clear just how much of that we’re going to get in this episode as opposed to in “Duet,” which is the March 21 episode of The Flash that will feature Kara coming over to that world.

Synopsis – “A new villain (guest star Teri Hatcher) comes to National City, putting Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) on high alert. Meanwhile, Winn’s (Jeremy Jordan) girlfriend, Lyra (guest star Tamzin Merchant), gets Winn in trouble with the law. Maggie (guest star Floriana Lima) attempts to help Winn but old loyalties get in the way. The Music Meister (Darren Criss) attacks Supergirl.”

One thing that we do want to ensure still gets its proper moment in the sun here is the arrival of Hatcher to the show, given that her role was recently hyped as a big one that could span the majority of the remaining episodes. Conventional wisdom suggests that she will be one of the aliens responsible for tracking down Mon-El, given that we first saw this tease in the winter finale and it still needs to be paid off properly. If this is someone trying to bring him back to his own world (like the Queen, which was teased tonight), this could cause some problems both for him and the relationship between him and Kara. You would think that telling her that there are some people hunting you down would be at the top of the priority list of things that need to be said, right?

Let’s just hope that the musical episode turns out to be every bit as fun as we hope. The promo below is almost entirely about Hatcher and Mon-El; alas, we’re going to have to wait for our first look at Gustin.
