Are you ready to learn a little bit more about Luthor family history? If you love “Supergirl,” rest assured that this history is coming your way, and sooner rather than later.
Next week’s new episode is entitled “Luthors,” and for the first time in the second half of the season, you’re going to get a chance to see Lena and also her mother Lillian in the story. Lena will find herself wrongfully accused (or so Kara hopes), which leads to an interesting story where you start to wonder a little bit more about whether or not Lena is as innocent as she seems. We know that she does have that Luthor last name, and that alone is enough to make you wonder about whether or not she is truly on the level.
For those of you looking for more of a lighthearted story, rest assured that you’re going to see that, as well, in the form of Alex and Maggie’s latest development.
Synopsis – “After Metallo (guest star Frederick Schmidt) breaks out of prison and frees Lillian Luthor (guest star Brenda Strong), the police blame Lena (guest star Katie McGrath) for his escape and arrest her. Despite overwhelming evidence, Kara (Melissa Benoist) refuses to believe her friend is guilty and fights to clear Lena’s name. Flashbacks reveal how Lena came to be a Luthor. Meanwhile, Alex (Chyler Leigh) introduces Maggie (Floriana Lima) to the gang.”
We will be the first person to admit that Metallo is far from our favorite villain within the CW universe, largely because he doesn’t have that much of a built-in grudge other than being a patsy from Project Cadmus. We’re interested to see what the evolution for this character is now that he has more of a specific grudge against Supergirl following their battle this past time. The more that the characters manage to build up an epic rivalry, the more exciting it’s going to be down the road.
