NCIS Los Angeles: Episode 8.18 Promo – Nell and Eric go undercover!

One of the great things that NCIS Los Angeles does time and time again is coming up with great ways to feature some of their characters in the capacity of undercover missions. We’re going to be seeing it once more with Sam Hanna tonight, and moving into season 8 episode 18 next week, Nell and Eric are going to be doing the same thing! Specifically, they’ll get to test their relationship in a different capacity having to play husband and wife.

So why send the two of them on this mission over Deeks and Kensi? The answer there is simple — they can better handle the subject matter at the center of the case. For Densi, they would have to do a whole lot more research to get up to speed with Nell and Eric. They live within the tech world, so for them to take on a tech-related case undercover just feels natural. The title here is “Getaway,” and that makes sense given what the two characters are in theory going to be doing.

Synopsis – “After the U.S. Treasury Department is hacked, Nell and Eric go undercover inside a couple’s retreat to track a tech-savvy husband and wife linked to the crime. Also, Digital Forensics Specialist Dave Flynn (Scott Grimes) arrives from the NCIS cyber office in San Diego to run ops while Eric and Nell are on assignment.”

What role with the remainder of the cast have within this story? There’s a certain part of this that remains to be seen, but rest assured that we’re excited to see it! It makes sense to give these two characters the spotlight for a wide array of different reasons. For one, you want to get some more spotlights on these two characters, given that there are many stories out there for the likes of Sam and Callen already. Also, it makes sense to make the load a little bit lighter on some other characters here and there, mostly because of the fact that there are 24 episodes in a season and it’s incredibly hard to burden your cast with carrying the bulk of the action on a week-by-week basis. Breaks here and there add to the variety.
